TOUR DETAILS

During this tour our first stop is Stilo, one of the most important Byzantine cities of the 10th century Calabria, counted among the most beautiful villages of Italy, considered the birthplace of the philosopher Tommaso Campanella. Here we visit the Catholic Church(La Cattolica) of Stilo, one of the most important Byzantine testimonies of the Italian territory (ticket €8, no guided visit), we then walk through the characteristic streets of the village, crossing the ancient Porta Stefanina, passing by the splendid Cathedral(Duomo), recently renovated. After visitin Stilo we drive to Stignano to visit the baroque style Villa Caristo (tickets €5, guided visit), a prestigious and significant example of Baroque art in Calabria, so much so that it was included in the philatelic series ‘Le ville D’Italia’.Return to hotel in the afternoon.
